Psychological counselling provides:
The process consists of several one-on-one sessions pursuing a previously agreed on goal. The main focus lies on finding specific solutions, resolving inner and outer conflicts, the maturation of personality and developing skills that help to cope with difficult situations. Unlike psychotherapy the primary objective of counselling and coaching does not consist in overcoming an illness but in ameliorating personal quality of life, productive efficiency, the ability to enjoy and supporting personal and/or professional advancement.
In Germany psychologists are legally obligated to keep confidentiality (§ 203 StGB). This includes relatives, colleagues and superiors, insofar as they are not included in the counselling process. The counsellor-client-confidentiality provides the basis for a trusting relationship. In addition I follow the ethical guidelines issued by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychologie (German Psychology Association) and the Berufsverband Deutscher Psychologinnen und Psychologen (German Psychologists Professional Association).
Psychological counselling is not covered by health insurance. Charges will be agreed upon individually including reduced rates for students and unemployed.
